No, it's not as simple as it seems. Don't gather a group of level 6 guys and go kill the shadowy healer thinking you have solved the bishop's quest...
To complete the bishop's quest, you must find the golden chalice and return it to the bishop. The problem is, to get the chalice you must kill the Champion of Blood. When he dies, a greater hellion bursts forth from his corpse. This is one nasty dude. Expect to take a group of half a dozen level 20 or so characters to polish him off. If you kill him, he will drop the chalice and a glowing red amulet.
Take the chalice to the bishop who will give you a jade amulet (casts cure poison) and white satin gloves (casts major healing) for your trouble. The glowing red amulet opens a room north of the dark wizard which contains a massive chest which drops boatloads of cash and some cool items.

After returning the challice to the bishop you'll receive. 750K exp and +3 accuracy.

Majormud Quest - 5th Evil

Module 9 Evil Alignment Quest(lvl 50 restricted)
Directions to Enigma Lord
From Blackwood Garden entrance, go se,s,s,sw,s,se,search north,n.
Walk Through
ask bal work
Balthazar chuckles at you with derision, "After that complete and utter failure from your last mission you dare to consider looking for more work here?" He waves you away without a second glance, growling, "Leave me be before I have you slaughtered with the other dogs." As you begin to contemplate an assassination two guards enter the room. One of them bow and speaks "Dark Lord, a courier from the Blood.." Balthazar snaps at him, "Bring him in immediately dog!" A person dressed in full black armor save for a large red skull emblazoned upon their breastplate enters. They do a half bow to Balthazar and present a red scroll tied with black silk. Balthazar impatiently snatches it away, growling all the while. He opens the scroll and immediately begins reading, his eyes widen and the growling continues. Finally he finishes and crumples up the parchment. Turning to the courier he says "Here is your answer!" and hurls the parchment at the courier, as it strikes him in the head the courier turns into a pillar of flame and vanishes without a sound. As the last pieces of ash fall to the ground the towering lord of evil rages around the room... "...Lord Nadroj dares defy me!..." "...Will not alliance without the dark mage destroyed!..." "...Him and his fanatic cult will be crushed if not for my help!" Finally he stops his tirade and suddenly the great and mighty Balthazar towers before you, almost blocking out the entire room from view. "I require your services once more it would seem, and this time I warn you failure of any type will result in dismemberment!" Balthazar takes a deep breath, and begins flexing his muscles, finally he begins speaking. "I will make this simple for you, I require the aid of an assistant of mine from long ago. He is the Enigma Lord. You will go to him. You will do what he says. He will tell you how to find out about this prophecy, this mage, this pig dog dares to overthrow me!" He pauses to ensure he doesn't get any dumb looks from y ou, finally he whispers. "Go now scum, return with what KNOWLEDGE you can glean from my assistance, or do not return at all. Speak with the hag near the swamp she can provide you with travel." Lastly he adds, "And should you run into any cur of the Blood God, slay them without hesitation!"
*** Find Enigma Lord ***
ask enigma
You are given but a smirk by the Enigma Lord, in a voice of unnatural cold he speaks, "What is it you want worm, has someone sent you as their lackey to me, make it quick or I shall break you in two!" as enigma balthazar The mystic raises an eyebrow... A whispering laugh escapes the lips of the undead mystic as you tell him the mission you have been sent to accomplish. "So he once again has need of my services, that buffoon." Jagged teeth appear with the smile on his pale face. "Very well scum, I hope you are well rested, you have alot of work ahead of you." An devilish chuckle escapes his lips and he leers at you, "I will certainly enjoy this. For your first task, the great and mighty Arlysia holds the temple of Dawnstar, a deity I mock in my daily meditations, do away with the Pastor that protects the temple, and desecrate the altar. When the DEED is complete, return to me for more tasks!"
The Arlysian Temple, Altar You notice altar of dawn here. Obvious exits: east, northeast, southeast
desecrate altar
With great malice you take your weapons and strike down the altar of the sun, soon your wrath overtakes you and before you know blood has been splashed with great arches over the walls and shattered pieces of the altar, who's you cannot say. You grimly inspect your handiwork, noting how dim the church has suddenly become. To your surprise the priest still appears to be breathing. Walking away, you grant him another day to live so that he may see the desecration he could not stop.
ask enig deed
The kai master flashes you a wicked grin...
He chuckles, relishing the details of your evil deed as you tell him the events that lead up to it. "Very good worm, I now promote you to be my lap dog, rejoice that I did not kill you before you spoke of Balthazar." A disgusting smirk flashes across his glacial face, and an evil gleam enters his stone eyes. "Your next task is perfect for a lap dog such as yourself, I have seen the prescence of the scum of Nadroj in the forest. It displeases me that they would walk amongst the forest like mere ruffians without paying homage to me. Hunt them out and slay them, I believe Nadroj would have frighteningly stupid enough to give the leader of that little band some parchment with orders and such, BRING it to me as proof of their death." He then gives you a quick slap to the face and yells "Go dog, run before you anger me further!"
***Kill the Dreadlord of Blood, return parchment to Enigma Lord***
ask eni bring
The kai master flashes you an evil row of jagged teeth... You hand the parchment to the Enigma Lord With childish glee the mystic opens the parchment, snickering with each line. "Some day I must pay Nadroj a visit and show him how to train his troops in hospitality." The Enigma Lord gazes at you with another leer, "I have good news for you minion, no longer are you the lap dog, now you have become my beggar, let there be rejoicing!" He chuckles at his own cleverness before continuing, "Now then beggar of mine, there is one last task you must complete, and then you are free from my bond. Somewhere within the Blackwood's there is an encampment of gypsy filth, they have hid from me very well, but now that I have a lap dog beggar, I am sure they can be found out." From nowhere a hand strikes you in the face, "Pay close attention scum, the leader of the encampment is an ancient old hag, and on this ancient old hag is a long golden chain. RETRIEVE for me this trinket, and your status as my servant shall come to a close." His wicked face shows another cheshire grin you have come to recognize.
***Kill the Ancient Gypsy Woman, return long golden chain to Enigma Lord***
The wretched woman finally is struck down, a screeching wail escaping her cracked lips, Around her waist you see the chain you have been told to seek out, it glows a mixture of red and yellow. You gingerly remove it from the waist of the hag and wonder if you almost heard a breath escaping from her ancient lungs. An ancient hand snakes out, grabbing hard into your wrist, you suddenly find yourself next to the woman's face and her voice sears into your mind, "I foresaw your visit here, and so I also foresee the mystic is against you, he is out to destroy you. Death awaits you unless you even the wage, take this potion and splash him with it before battle." With that her other hand slips a small vial into yours, as your hand encloses it your palm seems to be set ablaze for a moment. With that the woman is back on the floor, and you can't hear any breath from her lungs.
ask eni retrieve
The Enigma Lord gives you knowing, expectant smirk... With your final deed complete you show the chain to the mystic, "Ah the hermit will enjoy this." he mumbles as he makes a stabbing gesture in an attempt to swipe it. You remain the quicker, and he snarls at you viciously, "Blind fool, you should realize by now that Balthazar will meet his doom by the hands of the Dark Mage, and I intend to be the first to enjoy his collapse!" As he gracefully moves into a fighting stance you reach for the small vial given to you by the gypsy, a smirk appears on his face and he says, "Weak scum, no potion of yours will aid you now, prepare for death, it will come for you quickly!" He jumps at you as you hurl the potion at him, it shatters on his chest and covers him with a strange black liquid, he howls in great agony even more enraged!
*** Enigma Lord will now turn Hostile, Kill him too ***
With a nightmarish roar the Enigma Lord falls to your deathblow, once a being of great and awful power, he is now only a broken puppet, hunched over into a mass of dead flesh. Your former contact vanquished, you decide it best to continue on to the old hermit and give him the chain for passage into the library.
*** Now Seek Out the Old Hermit in Arylsia ***
ask old gift
The hermit gives you a leer... The old man lets out a wicked cackle as you hand him his gift. The old man clutches his gift greedily, and hands you a jagged bone key, "With this ye may open the door to the library." His old eyes suddenly alight with mischief and he grins, saying "Consider ye warned that the place is not the great monument of knowledge and peace it once was." With a final cackle the hermit tells you, "Be sure to stay out of the Inner Sanctum, people tend to get cranky if you be disturbing them in there." Lastly he adds, "Should you ever misplace your key, you may remind me of this, and I may happen to have another on me."
*** Kill the Rotting Beholder, Be Sure to have both the Eye and, Tongue he drops***
*** Pull Lever to reach the Old Man (Maxmillion) ***
ask old The withered creature bows and nods to you slightly, dried lips forming something of a smile. "Greetings visitor, no doubt you are either an illusion sent by the OLD MAN, or you are someone sent to stop the dreaded PROPHECY from occurring." He lets out a dry chuckle at his speculation, "It is of no matter, my name was MAXMILLION, once a mage of some worth who taught and studied at the Daerlorn Academy. Now, as you see, I am just a mere prisoner of Helvectus' apprentice, doomed to live out the remainder of this life in a prison of filth." He smiles, which ages him even further, "My prison keeper has become careless however, I have discovered his means of travel, so I can send you to his general location, where you may confront him, be you that foolish. Ask me of my PORTAL spell and I can send you there." A bloody cough escapes his lips and he falls to the floor in a ragged heap. "My BROTHER would get such a chuckle if he saw me in this place now."
ask old prophecy
Maxmillion gives you a stern look, "Know I not your true purpose, but I sense some evil in your soul. I will tell you what I know. A terrible power, the one who invokes the prophecy becomes a vile creation of dark power. One who corrupts the balance and destroys all around him." He gives you a strange cackle with a toothy grin. "It's quiet simple really, and only a matter of time." He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. He seems to meditate before he begins, "Long ago an evil man named Zanthus entered into the Daerlorn Academy posing as a teacher, in truth he merely wanted to use the resources of the academy for his own means. He became obsessed with magic relating to death. I became an unknowing student under him, and unfortunately learned as much as him. I regret those years for it is my cause for imprisonment as his dark apprentice has captured me and held me here so that he may know the steps. I speak this freely because I have given up hope that anything else can be done, and so I begin. Through the use of blackest magic he can begin a transformation of himself which causes a loss of the natural body and devouring of his spirit. As you may guess he becomes a shell of undeath. Someone who belongs no more to the land of living or death. This shell still leaves most of his mind intact but as always insanity sets in when one fools with their own mortality. He needs a pure gold chain in his possession, using that he uses it to link his power to the negative power plane, the chain must be attached to a container which holds his power, so that he can roam freely wit hout worry of death, for so long as his link is stable he shall be able to walk again." The old man starts to wheeze. "Once in this form he has power over the souls of his enemies, with a finger he can blot them from existance, with a wave he can drain their life, with a sweep he can destroy an entire town. There is no thing against him which can stop his power, he will become a diety of death and death shall walk the land as soldiers of his blasphemous army." He begins to look very somber. "The full prophecy is one man shall invoke the rite, and he shall become as death, and he will link a dark fold to the realm and all shall be vanquished by him." You can tell the story has taken alot out of him and his aged skin stretched like dried papyrus over his bones, turns starkly pale as he slumps to the ground. Finally he gasps out in ragged breaths "Take...tongue and eye...go...island...shall find...seek...stop him... shall come again."
ask old dark fold
"It is not known where the dark fold comes from, not much is even known about the dark fold, but enough experiments have gone wrong that theories have been created." He seems to lighten up and takes a tone as if he were back lecturing at his academy. "It has been theorized that there are places in the universe where things can be much like a world of our own, but with vary differences, these have been termed "folds". The term "dark fold" comes from the theory that there is a fold in the universe where everything about that world has become corrupted and evil, very little things of good exist in this place. It is a cruel and harsh realm where evil rules supreme and the weak are consumed by the strong. Through ancient text it has been surmised that it is possible to link the two together, with catastrophic consequences, the process is not known but it can only be assumed to be through diabolical means."
ask old portal
He begins to shake as his hands move in mystical patterns, a sliver of darkness appears in the air and begins to grow, the room seems to shake and then, You find yourself...elsewhere.
*** Find Hideous Face *** at the face, place eye in socket
place tongue in hole
A strange howl erupts from the hideous face! The hideous face vanishes, leaving a mirror in it's place! go portal, find dragon kill dragon & the ancient tapestry after killing the ancient tapestry, it will become a shreaded tapestry go tapestry when you are ready for the mage...
*** Kill the Dark Mage***
You gain 4,000,000 experience! Cackling insanely the dark mage says to you, "I Zanthus will not be stopped by pathetic worms like you. Hurry now back to Silvermere, for soon the town shall be plunged in the grip of Death!" He vanishes within the portal, laughing with glee. The yellow portal of bone beckons you on, the crushing defeat of failure weighing upon you, feeding your need for revenge.
*** Rest up, and Enter Portal ***
Kill Zanthus the Lich You gain 4,000,000 experience! go portal once more and... You step near the portal, and are suddenly consumed by it! Cold, chilling numbess surrounds you. All is black, and you feel as if you are in a vaccuum that is devouring your soul. Suddenly you are high above in the air, overlooking a city that looks ......hauntingly familiar.....yet this city is none like you have seen before, full of corruption and death. A horrid stench rises up causing you to choke and gag.... Something is pulling at you, tugging at your life strings! You feel yourself drawn to the far side, the eastern side, but it's not where it would be! You descend rapidly towards it and yet abruptly come to a halt. A great tug of war ensues over you, and you find yourself flung backwards through the streets. A loud thud drops you in the middle, but no one seems to notice..... To the south you see a dark, wretched tower, rising over the city like a skeletal finger. East is a gargantuan fortress of blackness. North is a land filled with the poor, the plagued and the wretches. You are certain now you have never been here, and yet the buildings tug at your mind. Unexpectadly you are surrounded by black armoured men, with skulled great helms, and cruel weapons....then a portal appears, causing them to snarl and back away! You are sucked in and then.... A plane of black surrounds you, only a single silver light draws your notice. Without thought you are at the source. It is the Timelord! Yet it is not. Various differences are about him, before you can contemplate further his voice echoes in your mind: "Spare your curiousity for what you have just witnessed. Too soon you shall experience it personally. Destiny is taking more control now, and the master of the pawn that was Zanthus is moving again. You however are no pawn, your path must be chosen, if you do not pick, Destiny shall pick for you. Such is the way of things. Forces must be aligned for the next Great Struggle. You shall be in it whether where you have been, or where you can go. The struggle of the Three shall continue, until the cycle of this re alm ends. Yet many strive to ruin it, in their interest. Zanthus was only the first, many shall come after...." He nods his head. "Go now, wait for the next challenge." And then, you are somewhere else....

*** Now, return to Balthazar with the KNOWLEDGE you gained ***
as bal knowledge
Balthazar glowers at you, "Speak quickly!" You relate your travels into Arlysia and the discoveries you made in the library, you happen to skip the unexpected travel you took after your final confrontation, knowing this could mean certain demise at Balthazar's hands. A chill runs down your spine as his chiseled teeth come into view from his cheshire grin. "You have done far better then I had anticipated, while the loss of the mystic is tragic, you merely fulfilled a debt he owed me already, better to have that debt paid then him to die first." This last sentence gives him an evil chuckle. "Very well then, you have regained your stature as my most favored subject, take now this trinket of mine from the days of yore, and do what you will until I have need of you again." He hands you a bundle of dark cloth, and turns away. 175 million - Quest Weapon/Spells

Majormud Quest - 5th Neutral

Module 9 Neutral Alignment Quest(lvl 50 restricted)
Walk Through
ask the missions
The Grey Lord grows silent for a few moments, until finally his voice echoes in your head. "We face a grave time before us Champion of Balance. The tangled web this dark mage weaves has enveloped almost all of my agents into various tasks. He truly knows our workings to well I fear." He lets out a long sigh of frustration before continuing. "It would appear I once again depend upon you to further our cause in this matter, nothing has been found out concerning this dark one or his insidious plans, but that is of no matter since either way him, and they, must be stopped. All avenues of knowledge have been depleted, save one. Long ago there was a library that housed the greatest works of that time, alas the way to that place has been cut off by some dark force. I do not think it a coincidence. Find now a way to this library in the town of Arlysia, speak to whoever you can, be it someone who has traveled far, or those who rely on fortune to find their way. Whatever it takes you must find this library and return to me with whatever KNOWLEDGE you have learned." The neutral lord then turns his thoughts inward and speaks no more.
*** Find Ancient Gypsy Woman *** ask wom grey lord
The gypsy woman gazes at you, "So you know of the Grey Lord..." You tell her of the mission you have been sent on and the help you were told you would receive. The gypsy woman nods her head, "True I am indebted to the Grey Lord, though it is for a favour before we walked the thin line of Neutrality. Very well, as you represent the Grey Lord, you shall even the scales. What he asks is no easy task and so, to truly even our balance, another favor must be done for me, and it is you that must carry it out." She pauses for a moment and begins a slow chant, she abruptly claps her hands and a fog appears showing you an image. The image is that of a aging man in fine clothes, with a look of animal terror on his face. You notice that his eyes twitch with unusual agility, and it almost seems like they bulge into clusters at times. The gypsy's aged voice returns you from the image. "That is the shell of the Mayor of Arlysia, he was once a man of nobility, but the disease that has befallen this land has effected him as well, he does not know it but something has infused him with a horrid abomination of undeath, an Arachnigoth. A spider of great unholy power that is soon about to come forth from it's shell and devour the souls of the crippled town", a look of sadness flashes across her wrinkled face, "He was always a fair man to me and my people, he does not deserve such an end. To draw out the beast you must slay the mayor." This causes her a pause, and she continues again, "I also require that you bring back one pile of it's spectral webbing that it will surely drop upon it's death. Return this WEBBING to me, and we shall get to the business of the dark power that threatens the balance we must protect."
*** Kill the Mayor Of Arlysia, and collect 1 webbing ***
ask wom webbing
The gypsy gazes at you, a look of despair in her milky eyes... You give the webbing to the old gypsy. The wise woman nods her head slowly, "I thank you for completion of this task traveler, and now to business we shall begin." Again the gypsy pauses, and with a clap of her hands a cloud appears from thin air. Inside the cloud you see a tumultuous lake, huge waves tossing back and forth. Suddenly an island comes into view, a creation of horror, and dark island with a fortress of bones within the center. The gypsy begins her tale, "You are viewing what was the Crystal Lake, and the island that lies in the center of it. While I still am researching I have determined the resident within is the source of all our troubles, the island became this almost a year ago, after the disappearance of he who was called Valion Darkbane. Events seem to unfold that show the one called Zanthus is about to return, and the prophecy of plague is about to occur, most likely at the same time." Without warning the cloud explodes with a loud flash, the stench of death is thick in the air. You can tell the woman did not expect this as she rubs her hands in silent agony. "It would seem my crying has been caught by our watery neighbor, it is of no matter." She continues with her tale, "I was but a young giorvan when Zanthus himself was banished, but I clearly remember the events there after, one who was called Helvectus, a young farmer's boy at the time, but it became very clear that Zanthus had dug his claws into that boys soul." The ancient shakes her head sadly, "Helvectus followed in his master's footsteps and learned all he could when it came to death and dark arts. He joined the library and became known to have strange habits, which eventually lead to his banishment." Her face seems to drift off into a vision of long ago, but she quickly recovers. "This is merely speculation on my part but it is my belief that Helvectus is he within the island of bone, and he is attempting to join his master by bringing about his prophecy, and enacting his own, the prophecy of plague. Your next task now i s one of peril, but necessary." Another cloud appears and shows a horrific abomination, a massive black tree with humanoid limbs hanging from all branches. "The Hanging Tree as it is called, once it was used for justice, but now it has been corrupted, you must slay the creation of evil, and take it's wicked heart from it. I wish only to see it, but you must ultimately take it to the old hermit that guards the library of Arlysia, inside the library you will find more answers. Come back when you have the HEART." The cloud vanishes and she lies back, exhausted from her story.
*** Kill the Hanging Tree ***
A mammoth crack appears in the center of the perversion of nature and it falls over, splitting in two. A great gush of blackness floods out from both open ends, causing rot and decay to assault your nostrils like a battering ram. You identify a filthy black piece of wood in the bottom half of the tree that appears to be the heart which you were sent to recover. Grabbing onto it, it seems unusually warm and splatters the foul midnight fluid all over your hands. With all your strength you rip it free of the stump, and a final death wail is uttered by the tree.
*** Now Return to Gypsy Woman ***
ask wom heart
Noticing her wagon seems more messy then when you left it, you shake the ancient gypsy woman, she doesn't seem responsive... With a great pounding force you are struck with the realization that the gypsy woman has been attacked! You check for signs of life, and a shallow rattle escapes her ribcage, showing her still breathing. It is evident whoever did this had sinister plans in mind, most likely whoever is on the island. You decide you must take the artifact of evil to the hermit with great haste.
*** Find Old Hermit ***
ask old gift
*** Now Kill Rotting Beholder ***
*** Now Talk to Old Man (Maxmillion) ***
ask old prophecy
Maxmillion nods his head, "It is a curse of many names that all take the same path. The one who invokes the prophecy becomes a terrible creation of dark power. One who corrupts the balance and destroys all around him." He gives you a strange cackle with a toothy grin. "It's very simple really, and only a matter of time." He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. He seems to meditate before he begins, "Long ago I was under the tutelage of a mad man by the name of . He was obsessed with this very rite. Unfortunately I learned as much as him and thus caused my downfall for his dark apprentice has captured me and held me here so that he may know the steps. Using the heart of a dead monster of great evil he opens a link between himself and the negative planes, which becomes the source of his dark power, for the plane is infinite in evil and death. The heart is placed within a container of some sort, so that it stays living even in death." The old man starts to wheeze. "Once in this form he has power over the souls of his enemies, with a finger he can blot them from existance, with a wave he can drain their life, with a sweep he can destroy an entire town. There is no thing against him which can sto p his power, he will become a diety of death and death shall walk the land as soldiers of his blasphemous army." He begins to look very somber. Finally he gasps out in ragged breaths "Take...tongue and eye...go...island...shall find...seek...stop him...shall come again."
ask old portal
He begins to shake as his hands move in mystical patterns, a sliver of darkness appears in the air and begins to grow, the room seems to shake and then, You find yourself...elsewhere.

*** Return to Grey lord with the KNOWLEDGE you found ***
ask the knowledge
You feel the Grey Lord's impassive gaze upon you... You quietly inform the Grey Lord of your travels to Arlysia, contact with the ancient gypsy, and eventual knowledge gained from Maxmillion concerning the prophecy which Zanthus prepared. He takes all of this in with his same impassive stare, showing nothing of emotion. Finally you speak of your failed attempt at destroying the newly created Lich. You note with some distress the slight frown that approaches on the neutral one, before it quickly vanishes. Finally his voice is heard in your mind, A piece of grey silk appears before you, covering something which seems to expand and contract, the Grey Lord signals you to take it and you grasp the silk and place it in your inventory. Majormud Quest - 5th Good

Module 9 Good Alignment Quest(level 50 restricted)
Walk Through

ask chan missions
Annora suddenly looks very haggard and you wonder when the last time she had a good sleep was. She takes a drink of water from a nearby cup, sits in her chair and turns to you. "We have received grave news from our contact in Arlysia, it is believed that the problems with the so called 'prophecy' and these problems in Arlysia are related. Other occurences have been appearing through out the realm, nightmares coming to life, there are very few agents of our cause that can aid our contact and you, for better or worse, are one of those agents. Now due to the avalanche the normal road to Arlysia is still blocked other means will need to be used to travel there. Make haste now to the gypsy encampment nearby to Orfeo's Inn. When in the town of Arlysia you must find the Pastor there speak my name and he will tell you what to do. Help him however you can, return when you have KNOWLEDGE of the link between Arlysia and the dark mage." Saying that she closes her eyes, desperate for rest.
*** Find Pastor Landor in Arlysia ***
ask pas annora
Pastor Landor looks at you sternly, "Many years have gone by since I heard that name.." Giving him greetings from Annora you tell him of the dire circumstances which have brought you here, and why you have need of his aid. The Pastor bows to you, "Indeed your mission is very urgent, I am so glad to see a face I can trust in these deceitful times. I suspect the answers that we both seek may be found in the library, however some old hermit has taken it upon himself to block all passage into the library without retrieving some very bizarre items." Lander pauses a moment. "What he has asked for is the gem of Ozrinom, the undead lord. I know not why he would make such a dark request but he is very adamant about getting his way. It has been long since I have left this chapel, let alone, confronted the minions of the dead one, so I am of little help until you receive the gem. One may know of this however, Dawnstar willing if his spirit still walks this land, I bid you traveler to go make your way to the white oak forest of the north, you can travel via the treacherous lake. Since the curse began the lake has been filled with nothing but blood, demons, and a current of death. You must travel to the center of the white forest and seek out the Ghost of Justice Darkbane, he will be able to aid you. I wish I could do more my friend, but my efforts are best set to fending off the fear that is seeping into this town. Do your best, Dawnstar be with you." He then nods his head towards you and turns to his altar in prayer.
*** Find Ghost of Justice Darkbane ***
ask gho pastor landor
Justice Darkbane arches a ghostly eyebrow at you... You speak to him of the message the Pastor asked to pass on, and the urgency of your mission from Annora. His brow furrows even further. Finally he speaks, "Indeed the times are dire if the Pastor requires the gem of Ozrinom, for Ozrinom is most powerful to defeat for such a trinket. As I can sense from your travels you have encountered his minions already, those of the undead that feed off the blood of the living, indeed I speak of the vampire." The ghost gives you a stern look, "Be wary of these monsters for they are very powerful, and Ozrinom is the most mightiest and evil by far. He has built a most clever place of rest in the Arlysian graveyard, for his mausoleum is one of the many found there. I have only invaded that place a handful of times, but as he is ancient in years he is also unchanging in methods. You must find two statues on the first two floors, then on the bottom floor find your way to the center of the crypt for that is where he shall be. Do not believe you can destroy him for he has an abode hidden away deep in the earth, not possible to reach by mortal means." With that he bows to you, "Best of luck, for you will need all you can spare."
*** Kill Ozrinom, and Tip over his coffin ***
As the last wisps of the death mist vanish you are left with the newly vacant casket. Gingerly you look inside to see if you can find any trace of what you've shed blood and sweat for. Inside you find the largest gem you have ever seen in your life. Easily a foot and a half in diameter it seems as light as a feather. Using as much care as you can muster after the brutal fight into this fortress of death, you take the gem.
*** Return to Pastor Landor ***
ask pas gem
The temple seems unusually quiet, you approach the Pastor who appears to be praying... With great horror you realize the altar of Dawnstar has been desecrated, the Pastor assaulted. Villains, with great malice, destroyed the altar with their weapons. Landor's life blood flows freely from the broken sun. A cough escapes him and you realize he is still barely alive, moving closer he recognizes you and speaks, "Though the circumstances dire, the time is not for you to avenge this deed, take with you the gem to the old hermit in front of the library. Make great haste in your search for knowledge, even now I hear Dawnstar telling me what evils will take place should you fail. More then Arlysia is at stake so wait no further!" His eyes close, perhaps for a final time, despite your initial holy rage, you decide it best to honour his wish.
*** Find Old Hermit ***
ask old gift
*** Kill Rotting Beholder ***
grab his eye, and tongue
*** Find Old Man (Maxmillion) ***
ask old
The withered creature bows and nods to you slightly, dried lips forming something of a smile.
Maxmillion nods his head, "Prophecy of Plague, the Souldrinker, Spirit Corruptor, it has many names, but they shall all point towards one outcome, that which he who fulfills the plague desires to be slain, shall be slain, and he that fulfills shall be given the souls of his enemies." He gives you a strange cackle with a toothy grin. "It's very simple really, and only a matter of time." He takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. He seems to meditate before he begins, "Thanks to my research I have a great deal of expertise in this. Unfortunately this has caused my downfall for the dark apprentice has captured me and held me here so that he may know the steps. Using a gem of great portion and power he places in it a link to himself and the negative planes, this is what keeps him from turning to dust, thus you can only destroy him by destroying the gem, otherwise will just be recreated to his shell once more." The old man starts to wheeze. "Once in this form he has power over the souls of his enemies, with a finger he can blot them from existence, with a wave he can drain their life, with a sweep he can destroy an entire town. There is no thing against him which can stop his power, he will become a diety of death and death shall walk the land as soldiers of his blasphemous army." He begins to look very somber. "The full prophecy is one man shall invoke the rite, and he shall become as death, and he will link a dark fold to the realm and all shall be vanquished by him." You can tell the sto ry has taken alot out of him and his aged skin stretched like dried papyrus over his bones, turns starkly pale as he slumps to the ground. Finally he gasps out in ragged breaths "Take...tongue and eye...go...island...shall find...seek...stop him...shall come again."
ask old dark fold
He begins to shake as his hands move in mystical patterns, a sliver of darkness appears in the air and begins to grow, the room seems to shake and then, You find yourself...elsewhere.

ask chan knowledge
Chancellor Annora gives you a grave look, hoping for any bit of good news. You tell Annora of your travels, the loss of Pastor Landor, and the unfortunate conclusion of the meeting with the Dark Mage. Her eyes close and she appears to be holding back tears. She opens them again and you wonder if she has slept at all since your mission began. She gathers her thoughts slowly before speaking, "Truly this is the gravest of times we have known, I was hoping to be rid of this problem and yet he continues to become worse each time." Another sigh leaves her and she looks as if she would collapse, taking some time to steady herself, she speaks again. "Well now we must wait for him to make his move yet again, and hope we can perform better then we have in the past. Take time now to rest friend, return to me later and let us both pray this new dark power will not destroy our cause." She makes a signal and a priest enters the room, bearing something in a large cloth. "Take this from our vaults for your hard work during the mission, you have my leave." Majormud Quest - 3rd Good

GOOD QUEST 3(level 30 restricted)
Chancellor Annora smiles warmly at you, clasps your hand and says:
"Well met, friend! It is a pleasure to once more see your face. Unfortunately, I wish it was under better circumstances... The forces of darkness are growing at an almost overwhelming rate now. Legions of black orcs and packs of trolls have been seen maurauding in the south and east, and even an increase in dragon sightings has been reported. This is not good news. We need to find allies, and quickly! This is where you come in. Recently the barrier that blockaded the road between Silvermere and the dwarven mountain of Khazarad was destroyed. Although we have long been out of contact with the dwarves there, once we were on good terms with them, and hope to be once again. Your mission is to go parlay with the dwarven king, and beseech him to join our cause. It is of vital importance that we have the dwarves of Khazarad as our allies-- they are doughty and relentless fighters, as well as being the finest crafters of arms in this realm. Go now, and may I greet your return with joy for your success!"
ask king business
The dwarven king listens to your tale of Chancellor Annora's plea with keen interest. When you are done, he sits back for a moment and broods thoughtfully.
"Adventurer, " he continues, "it would seem the fates have dropped you in my lap right when aid is needed the most, although I am loathe to admit it. Let it never be said that Kulgar was not one to accept aid when it was offered, not to refuse it when requested. However, time has grown long in our friendship with Annora's people, and the peoples of Khazarad have their own problems."
He looks you over appraisingly, seeming to weigh a decision in his head.
"I have made my choice. I will ally my forces with Annora's folk willingly, provided one condition is met-- that you aid US in our time of need. I do not offer our aid lightly, as the task I would set to you seems an impossible one to me. But make your decision now, as only should you choose to accept our alliance will I reveal our plight."

ask king accept
King Kulgar leans forward with a burning hatred in his eyes, and whispers:
"DEMONS. Foul abominations from beyond this plane infest our very mines! Only the upper levels of the mines remain free of their filth. It has sorely hurt our income, as the demons are resistant to most weapons, and are merciless when they attack. The normal creatures that lurk in the mines, we have little trouble with-- the dwarves of Khazarad are mighty warriors. But these hellish creatures scoff at plain iron, as it glances off of them like rain off of a duck's back. It is a troubling problem. Many of our finest fighters have been slain, their bodies defiled and consumed. It is an outrage!"
He sits back with a disgusted look on his face. After a moment, he seems to compose himself, and goes on:
"Even my champion, the legendary hero Gudruk, was finally defeated. He lies now in the temple, recovering from his wounds. I know little of it other than that he confronted some hellish beast from beyond, and even his mighty mithril axe could not faze it, though the lesser demons were cut like wheat upon it. You should talk with him, as his experiences might prove invaluable. Another that may aid you would be Loremaster Thulgraf, my sage and historian. His chambers are down the stairs, and south of the golden doors. May you succeed in your quest, wanderer, and return to me with a tale of glorious victory!"

greet lore

This ancient dwarf is deeply enraptured by a book he is reading when you hail him. After a moment, as if shaking off a heavy sleep, he looks up, notices you, and exclaims:
"Ahh, strangers come to the halls of lore! Greetings, and please help yourselves to the vast library of information I have accumulated here. It is unparalled!"
With a sudden start of surprise, he seems to remember something. In a voice that would be funny if it were not apparent he is trying to be stern, says:
"Errm, hrmph, I mean, of course, do you have permission from the King to be here? I cannot answer questions nor help you if you don't have official reason to request my aid. A matter of law, you know."

ask lore permission
Before you even have a chance to finish your statement, he blurts out:
"Yes yes, very good, I knew you would be here on official business."

You wonder how he knew such a thing, but before you can ask, he speaks:
"It is about time someone took the time to talk to me! I mean, this whole problem probably could have been avoided had someone listened to my advice. The king considers me a senile old fool, and though I must admit I am prone to rambling sometimes, there are things I see and read that no one else has the patience to discover! For example, just last week I found a priceless formula for curing a most troublesome problem that afflicts the warriors here-- Yellow Foot. It is a fungus that causes the feet to stink quite awfully, creating tension in the barracks and making one be embarrased by the smell wherever one goes. The cure is to obtain a smooth chunk of crystal, and to treat it with a soltuion of Limestone Powder, Slug Tongue and..."

When he sees your eyes glazing over in boredom, he clears his throat and continues:
"Hrm. Ah, yes, well I assume you are not here to defeat the evils of Yellow Foot disease. What was I going to say again? Ahh yes, the problem in the mines. To make a long story short, I knew this was going to happen. It was propecised in the Book of Koll, an ancient dwarven manuscript that few sages nowadays have the skills to decipher. I of course have no such problem, and while poring through its pages I happened upon a short passage, that told about a horrible scourge that was entombed deep below the mountain. It was held in a massive blue gem, that sparkled unlike any other stone ever discovered. Well, it was buried in the lowest mine for a reason, and that is what I told the king when I heard he was authorizing deeper mines to be dug. Of course I was not listened to, and that's why you're here now. The demons have been set loose."

ask lore demons
He sits back in his chair, steeples his fingers and begins to lecture:
"According to the ancient text, the demons can only be slain by special weapons. Normal ones will not even scratch them, and the longer they stay in this plane, the more resistant they become. In addition, their leader is completely impervious to any metal from this world! He is the key to removing their presence, as he keeps open the portal that was created with the breaking of the gem. It appears an arcane ritual must be followed to forge a unique weapon, the only thing that can harm this hellish creature: the Spirit Dagger of Goijar. I won't tell you what the prophecy says in its entirety, as the text is two-hundred pages long and we would likely be overrun by the time I was finished. In short, you must find a material to craft the physical form of the dagger. The metal you must find cannot come from this world-- thankfully I can help you with that. I have observed a strange comet that struck down in the Dragon's Teeth hills like a fireball. It displayed some odd properties that have led me to find that it contains the material you seek. Then you must get it forged into a weapon, and this is the easy part, as the master smith Martok is the finest weaponsmith in this part of the world. Ask him to forge a weapon with the metal once you have found it. However, this weapon alone will not be enough to harm the greater demon-- there are magical and spiritual components as well. These, however, I have no knowledge of. I know that there is an aging enchantress in the village of the gnomes who may aid you: seek her out, it may be that she will provide you with the rest of the information."

greet gudruk

The massive dwarven hero props himself on one elbow, and leans over the edge of the bed. With a small grimace of pain, he says:
"God's breath and bones, these bandages will be the death of me. I can barely move an inch without feeling like a trussed-up banquet pig! Ahh, never the worry though. I've recovered from worse."

With that, he winks and breaks out in a broad grin.
"Now what have you come to visit me for? I don't remember meeting any strangers of late, but then again, I did take a nasty blow to the head."

ask gudruk demon
Gudruk looks at you strangely. When you mention your talk with king Kulgar, he nods and whispers:
"Aye, aye, indeed I know some about the foul plague of demons lurking in our lowest and most precious mines. There's a general order to keep things quiet, which is why I didn't mention anything earlier. But since you've agreed to help us, I'll tell you what I know."
"I suppose it all started when one of our miners stumbled upon a massive, glittering gem of the purest blue embedded in the mine wall deep down in the mithril mines. Naturally, great efforts were undertaken to loosen it from the wall's grasp, but it did not come. Finally, under the incredible pressures we applied, it cracked. A brilliant blue light flashed out, and a thunderclap made us all reel in pain. From the shards of the gem smoked out a wispy mist, which began to spin and whirl in a vortex. After a moment, it had formed a sort of oval disc about ten feet tall. Much to our surprise, a minute later a horrible nightmare creature stepped out of it! The rest, as they say, is history. More of the demonic beasts poured out of the portal, and more dwarves went to fight them. It wasn't going so bad until IT appeared. Massive and hideous beyond all explanation, it was shrouded in an otherworldy darkness that brought fear into the hearts of even the strongest warriors. I was the only one who could face it, and when I did, even my keen mithril axe was turned aside by its demonic skin. Terribly wounded, I nonetheless managed to make it back to the upper mines, where I was brought here."
"That greater demon is a scourge to the mountain. I fear that it is waiting down there, accumulating its power so that it can attempt a massive strike to wipe out our city. The unreasoning hatred these demons display is unmatched, they give no quarter nor do they ask for any. And if my own mithril axe could not harm their lord, then I have no hope for what may."

ask gud mithril
"If my axe Bloodbiter could not harm them," he growls, "then I know not what else would avail. You might speak with Master Smith Martok, down in the forge, for he knows all about metals and weapons and could perhaps help you." Forge of Khazarad

greet martok
The smith doesn't look up from the glowing iron bar he is furiously pounding on the black anvil. In a voice like grinding stone, he says:
"Make yer speech quick, young one, as old Martok has still many more o' these t'pound into shape before the day is done."
ask martok mithril
A sparkle gleams in the smith's eye as you mention mithril.
"Ahh... mithril. Now there be the king of all metals-- harder than steel, soft as butter in the hands of a skilled smith, and more beautiful than a star's twinkle. Though it be precious beyond reckoning, deadly weapons can be fashioned from it, and lordly armour. Jewelry set in mithril is worth ten times its normal value."
Hesitantly you interrupt him, and mention your talk with Champion Gudruk.
"Ye have talked with Gudruk, eh? Aye, what he say be true, though I would not have believed such a thing from a lesser dwarf. His mithril axe, which I myself lovingly forged, glancing uselessly from the demon's hide? It will be an unearthly weapon which would harm this beast, I do believe. I regret to say that nothing of which I know could be crafted into a weapon for such a use."

greet ench
The elderly gnome woman looks up at you with a piercing gaze. With a throaty chuckle, she murmurs:
"What have you come to me for, then? Do you wish a charm for your sweetie? Or perhaps a trinket to ward away mosquitoes? Those are popular around here, what with the swamp nearby. Speak up now, I'm a busy woman!"
ask gnome demon
The gnome enchantress looks at you quizically.
"I see you have talked with King Kulgar. I cannot see any harm in telling you what I know, then. These demons come from a mystical portal, that connects our world to theirs. Their plain is full of strange, magical energy, that will make them indestructible in our world, given time. The only chance of stopping them would be to close the portal, but to do this, the great demon Gugluthra must be destroyed. He is the one who keeps the rift open, by the power of his magics. Unfortunately, no power I know of can harm nor, nor can any known weapon. It is a sad fact that we may all be dead soon."

When you tell him the tale that Loremaster Thulgraf gave you, he nodswith a broad grin, and exclaims:"Aye, this would indeed do the trick! I will stop what I'm doing and work on it at once. A dagger ye need, and a dagger ye'll get!"With a blur of motion, he tosses the shard in his forge, and gets to work.Clang...Clang...Clang... Clang...After a while, he stops working, sweat gleaming from his brow and a triumphant look upon his face."There ye go," he says, "it be a fine weapon indeed. A blessing on yer quest, traveler, and godspeed!"

The gnome enchantress looks at you quizically.
"Ahh, you have spoken with Loremaster Thulgraf? A learned dwarf is he, though prone to being somewhat scatterbrained. Quickly, tell me what he said!"
You waste no time in explaining about the Spirit Dagger of Goijar.
"Hmm... I have never heard of this dagger, but the process of binding a spirit to an enchanted object is not unheard of. I believe I could do it, though it will be greatly taxing. Like the Loremaster said, there are three steps in creating this dagger: first, you must find a metal not of this world, and have it forged into a weapon. Second, you must bring this dagger to me, and I must enchant it with a complex spell of binding. This will allow you to trap a spirit of great power within the blade, creating the Spirit Dagger of Goijar. The spirit required for this last step must be a soul of great power, and one unjustly forced to remain after death in this world against its will. Slaying it with the enchanted dagger will both trap its life force in the weapon, and also provide the means for its liberation-- for when the demon Gulgluthra is slain with the dagger, it will shatter, releasing the trapped spirit to where it should rightfully be."
ask enchantress enchant
The old gnome holds her hand out, saying:
"So what do ye need me to enchant today?"
You hand her the gleaming dagger, and a look of admiration comes over her. With a sigh, she places the dagger on a table, and says:
"Ahh, old Martok always did have good hands. This masterpiece is perfect for the spells that must be cast upon it. Now this will only take a moment, but do not be decieved! It is extremely taxing, and will take a lot out of me." With that, she turns to the dagger, and begins chanting in a low, mournful voice. Passing her hands slowly over it in circles, a pale ghostly light begins to flicker about the weapon. Her voice rising and becoming more forceful, the gnome enchantress begins to intone arcane words of power! The dagger floats up in the air, lazily spinning, the spectral glow pulsing like a heartbeat! With one final shout, the enchantress grasps the dagger, and a blinding flash fills the room! Her hands trembling, the old gnome turns to you, the enchanted weapon held out before her.
"Take it," she murmurs, "and use it well. Now go, find the spectre you need, and destroy it. Then seek out Gulgluthra!"
